Your Monto Golf Club Membership
Membership of the Monto Golf Club brings with it rights to enjoy the facilities, course and fellowship/comradeship of fellow members and is open to all men, ladies and juniors with an interest in the game of golf.
Having in mind that the state of the course (tee boxes, fairways and greens) as well as the facilities are what they are today through the dedication and hard yakka of all the members that have walked before us. We are custodians of those facilities charged with an obligation to hold, maintain and improve them for future generations of golfers who will follow in our footsteps.
The committee of the golf club is charged with various obligations under the constitution to ensure that the functions, operations and maintenance of the clubs assets are preserved for our future. Further more that members, guests and visitors to the club enjoy the game of golf and their time at the club.
There are several classes of membership, only ordinary members and life members have voting rights. Ordinary, Junior and Temporary Membership forms may be completed and submitted online through the links below (keeping in mind that the nomination is not complete until the required nomination fee has been paid) or by completing a form available at the club house.
- Ordinary Members – persons 18 years and over registered to play golf. [form Link]
- Junior Members – persons under 18 years registered to play golf. [form Link]
- Life Members – playing members of the Club who retain membership throughout their lives without further payment of any prescribed subscription. Nominations by a member through the committee.
- Temporary Members – persons who are members of another Golf Club who apply for and purchase temporary membership for such period of time as shall be approved by the Committee. [form Link]
Membership of the Club is open to any person whose membership is likely to be compatible with the existing members of the Club.
- An applicant for membership must be proposed by a member of the Club (proposer) and seconded by another member (seconder).
- An application for membership must
- be in writing; and
- be signed by the applicant and the applicant’s proposer and seconder; and
- be accompanied by a Nomination Fee if requested by the Committee.
- Upon receipt of an application for membership, the Secretary shall post relevant details of same on the notice board of the Club where such application details shall remain posted for 7 days prior to being submitted to the next following meeting of the Committee for determination.
- The Committee may in its absolute discretion approve or reject an application for membership.
- The Secretary shall, as soon as practicable after the Committee meeting decides to approve or reject an application for membership, give the applicant a written notice of the decision and if the application has been rejected, refund any fees paid by the applicant.
